Cool blend with De.Tales

Igor Rebosio and Giuseppe Varsavia, known as De.Tales, found themselves grappling with a legacy that is not one of history, but more like one of lifestyle and society, at what was once the Lido Cadenabbia, a true reference point for locals and tourists, close to the splendid town of Tremezzo on the shore of Lake Como. Overlooking the lake from the peninsula of Bellagio, this former lakeside facility has been transformed by the duo, founders of a studio of architecture, planning and design based in Milan, to create the exclusive MOR Beach Club.

This destination gains new freshness and vigor thanks to a project that balances the tradition of the building and the site with a touch of Milanese allure. The restyling covers the interiors, façades and outdoor areas – for a total of 2300 sqm – where features of the Liberty style can still be seen. The echoes of the natural context in which the club is immersed resonate in every space, from the restaurant to the bar, the terraces to the swimming pool. Colors, elements, inspirations of the lakeside panorama set the characteristic tone of the entire project.

Inside, the warm tones of wood pervade the furnishings and facings, alongside hues of yellow, green and black for the terrazzo flooring, culminating in the laser-cut wood paneling (with banana leaf motifs) cladding the main wall and the counters of the bar, inside and outside. The presence of green is not limited to the decoration, but becomes functional on the panoramic terrace to border the spaces and to create corners of privacy inside its area of 250 sqm. Here the lounge zones become alcoves for relaxation and comfort, reflected in the calm turquoise of the lake, passing from the VIP lounge to the pool surrounded by sunbeds and umbrellas facing the water.

Every detail contributes to formulate a refined mood, from the interior design to the position. As well as the food, overseen by the chef Sharon Cohen with a novel interpretation of “Middleterranean” cuisine.
